After no games yesterday involving Australians, there were three games in the NBA today which had Australians in action.
Aron Baynes and the Detroit Pistons traveled to Dallas to take on the Mavericks. The Pistons took out the game 95-85.
Patty Mills and the San Antonio Spurs hosted the Boston Celtics, beating them 108-101.
Dante Exum, Joe Ingles and the Utah Jazz hosted the Oklahoma City Thunder, winning 109-89
Aron Baynes had the typical Aron Baynes style game which Detroit signed him for. IN 20 minutes Baynes almost had a double double with eight points and ten rebounds. His eight points came on 3-of-5 shooting, as well as 2-of-2 from the line.
Of his rebounds, two of them were on the offensive end of the court. Baynes also had one block on the night. As usual Baynes had his usual effect on the game, having a plus/minus of 18 on the night.
Mills had another quality night in the NBA. He played 24 minutes and scored ten points on 4-of-9 shooting, including 2-of-5 from the field. Mills also collected two assists and one steal.
Mills had a positive plus minus on the night going plus eight. This was equal team high on the night.
Exum started again in the place of the injured George Hill again. In 17 minutes Exum scored eight points on 3-of-5 shooting, hitting his only shot from distance.
Exum also had one rebound and three assists in his best outing for a week.
Fast becoming my favorite Australian NBA player in the NBA, Ingles had another solid night. In just under 21 minutes, Ingles scored 11 points on 4-of-5 shooting. He was a perfect 3-of-3 from deep.
Ingles also collected four rebounds and three assists. It is this versatility that is allowing Ingles to continue to carve out minutes where most of the NBA thought he would be lucky to play ten minutes a game. He played six seconds less than Joe Johnson, scored 11 points to seven on a much greater percentage and had one more assist on the night.
