There were two games in the NBA today involving Australians.
Matthew Dellavedova and the Milwaukee Bucks traveled to Washington for a rematch with the Wizards. Last game the Wizards did not appear to turn up, losing by 27. This game the Wizards turned it around, winning 107-102
Aron Baynes and the Detroit Pistons hosted the Cleveland Cavaliers who last night beat the NBA leading Golden State Warriors by one point. The Pistons needed to snap their five game losing streak and they did that by beating the Cavaliers 106-90, admittedly it was without LeBron James.
Dellavedova was on his game early. In the first four minutes Dellavedova amassed one rebound, three assists and two steals to help set up an early lead. Over the full game Dellavedova played 29 minutes and scored eight points. However, Dellavedova had an extremely poor shooting game. He went 1-of-9 from the field, including 0-of-5 from deep. His only saving grace was that he went 6-of-8 from the line.
Dellavedova would end up with three rebounds, 11 assists and two steals against one of the toughest assignments in the entire Eastern conference, John Wall.
Baynes played 11 minutes in the victory, scoring two points on 1-of-1 shooting. He also collected four rebounds in a solid showing again. Baynes defense was again good, with a defensive rating of 95. If he kept that up he would be challenging Andre Drummond for the best defensive rating in the NBA.
