There was only one game in the NBA today involving an Australian

Today there were seven games in the NBA, only one of them involved an Australian. Joe Ingles and the Utah Jazz took on the Minnesota Timberwolves, defeating them 112-103

Joe Ingles

In my previous posts I have called Joe Ingles Mr Versatility. It is that versatility that continues to get Ingles minutes, despite the fact that the Utah Jazz are almost back to full strength. The only players missing are shooting guard Alec Burks and power forward Derrick Favors.

Ingles will only be competing for minutes with Burks when he is back but at the moment, Ingles is still required to float between shooting guard and small forward as required. He had a typical Aussie Joe game tonight, scoring four points on 2-of-6 shooting as well as collecting two rebounds, one assist and two steals.

As long as he keeps putting up these sort of numbers, Ingles will have a spot on the court at some point most nights for the Jazz, even when they get back to full strength.

Dante Exum

Dante Exum did not play tonight. After seeing a drop in minutes last game, Exum did not play due to coach Quin Synder not putting him on the floor. He is not injured.

Snyder decided to use Shelvin Mack to spell George Hill tonight.

Injury Ward

Ben Simmons

Ben Simmons and the Philadelphia 76ers did take on the Toronto Raptors tonight, losing 122-95. Unfortunately Simmons is still recovering from the surgery to his foot and did not take part. There is still no timetable for his return.
